Furniture planning for small rooms
A small room needs clear priorities. Choose the furniture you will use most, measure the complete pieces and leave enough space for normal movement.
Measure beyond the wall
Record doors, windows, fixed storage and the route through the room. Mark the furniture footprint on the floor. A sofa that fits the wall can still obstruct a doorway or leave too little room for a table.
Compare complete dimensions
Slim-looking arms or raised legs can change appearance, but check the actual width and depth. For a sectional, measure every side. Do not assume a two-seat sofa is always smaller than another model with three seats.
Choose flexible details carefully
A compact side table may suit the room better than a large central table. Confirm any nesting, storage or modular function from the product details. Start with fewer useful pieces and add accessories once the layout works.
