Coffee tables

A coffee table anchors the seating around it. Every table here is made to order in your size and finish, arrives in up to 15 business days, and is delivered and installed free across Saudi Arabia.

What size coffee table do you need?

Choose a table about two-thirds the length of the sofa in front of it, and keep 40⁠–⁠45 cm between the table and the seats. The table top should sit at the height of the sofa seat or a little lower, and at least 60 cm should stay free between the table and any other furniture to walk.

Most of our coffee tables are 120 × 60 cm and 50 cm high. Longer designs reach 138⁠–⁠143 cm, and the square designs run from 56 to 112 cm. A low table of 35⁠–⁠40 cm suits a deep, relaxed sofa; a higher one of 45⁠–⁠50 cm suits upright majlis seating.

Coffee table or centre table?

They are the same piece. In many Saudi homes the table in front of the sofa is called a centre table, and in a majlis it often doubles as the serving table for tea, coffee and dates. Choose it by the size rule above: about two-thirds of the sofa's length, 40⁠–⁠45 cm from the seats.

Rectangular or square?

A rectangular table suits a long sofa or a corner sofa; a square table suits a sofa set arranged around a centre, as in many majlis rooms. In a large majlis, two matching tables often work better than one very long one. A 120 cm table suits most three-seat sofas; in front of a corner sofa, a square table of 90⁠–⁠112 cm fills the space between the two runs.

Coffee tables for the majlis

In a majlis, seats usually line the walls with a long table, or several small ones, in the middle. Keep the tables within reach of every seat, about 40⁠–⁠45 cm, and leave a clear path to serve tea and coffee. Side tables between the seats keep cups close for the guests at the ends. For an eleven-seat majlis, two coffee tables in the centre and a side table at each end usually work well, and two 120 × 60 cm tables can stand end to end as one long table for a big gathering.

Finishes, styling and care

Each design lists its available finishes. A light finish keeps a small room feeling open; a darker one gives a large majlis weight and warmth. Keep about two-thirds of the top clear for cups and trays: a tray groups small things, and a low vase or a short stack of books adds height without blocking the view.
