Left or Right Corner Sofa? How to Choose

Stand facing the sofa: if the corner or the chaise is on your right, it is a right corner sofa; if it is on your left, it is a left corner sofa. This is how KLIK Decor names the sides, and the 3D studio shows the sofa from the same view, so the side you see on screen is the side you get.

The rule, side by side

Sit on the sofa and the sides swap: the corner of a right corner sofa is then on your left. That is why some shops name the sides the other way round, so always check the drawing or the 3D view before you order, whichever shop you buy from.

How to choose the side for your room

• Start from the wall. Face the wall where the long side of the sofa will stand. If the corner of the room where the other side goes is on your right, choose a right corner; if it is on your left, choose a left corner.
• Keep the way in open. Let the open end of the sofa face the door, so nobody has to walk round the corner to sit down.
• Face the TV or the view. Put the long side opposite the TV wall or the window, and let the corner close the seating area.
• Check windows and air conditioning. Keep the high back of the corner clear of a window and of an AC unit.
• Leave a walkway. Keep 80⁠–⁠90 cm free in front of the seats.

A U-shaped sofa has a return at both ends, so the question becomes how you want the two ends, and the studio asks exactly that. A chaise is a long seat for your legs at one end, without a corner seat; the side rule is the same: as you face the sofa, a chaise on your right is a right chaise.

Is a left or a right corner sofa better?
Neither: the room decides. Choose the side that keeps the open end towards the door and the long side facing the TV or the view.

Can I change the side after I order?
Yes, within 12 hours of placing your order: message us on WhatsApp with your order number to change the side, or cancel the order for a full refund. After 12 hours the order can no longer be cancelled, because a made-to-order sofa is already being made; a later change depends on what is still possible, and any extra cost or time needs your OK first.
