Sofas and sizes
Our custom three-seat sofas run from 190 to 230 cm, two-seat sofas from 140 to 170 cm and armchairs from 85 to 105 cm; corner sofas run from about 3.4 m to 8.4 m of seating in the designs shown. For guests who sit for long visits, choose a seat height of about 45 cm and firm arms on the armchairs, which are easier to stand up from. There is no colour that every women's majlis must use; start from the floor, the walls and the curtains you keep, and compare real fabric samples in daylight and in the evening before you decide.

- Mauve and dusty pink: a soft, elegant base; pair it with white or light grey so it does not feel heavy.

- Place a side table within reach of every armchair and at each end of a sofa.

A women's majlis in a smaller room
In a room of about 4 × 4 m, an L-shaped corner sofa on two walls and two armchairs facing it seat seven or eight and keep the centre free for serving. Choose one light, calm fabric for the large pieces and keep the colour for the cushions, so the room does not feel crowded. Ottomans can add seats on the day of a gathering.
Planning for occasions
- Count the guests at your largest regular gathering, then plan the fixed seats for that number and add ottomans for the rest.
- Keep the serving route from the kitchen to the majlis short and clear.
- Give the room's best seats, nearest the entrance and with firm arms, to older guests.
